Sun's impact on Earth using Hα in comparison with Hinode data
In recent years, several studies have shown that the flares and coronal mass ejections occurring on the Sun have a signicant impact on the terrestrial environment. These findings have encouraged research to understand how the impact of such explosions can spread through the interplanetary space within the solar system and what the consequences of these phenomena are. This work briefly describes the basics of the solar observations in Hα line center and its wings to obtain information about the motion of mass in the chromosphere toward the observer. Using the Doppler effect, it is possible to determine the velocities of the erupting filaments or similar structures from solar images obtained with the Flare Monitoring Telescope (FMT) in comparison with Hinode data.
