Local Quantities Analysis of Magnetofrictional and MHD Simulations

We present analysis of magnetofrictinal and MHD simulations of erupting sigmoidal active regions with the new version of the QSL Squasher code (Tassev & Savcheva 2019) that incorporates new LOCAL quantities , i.e. to the magnetic field line at any given position along the field line length, such as the coiling rate (local) and factor (integrated along the field line), which proves very useful for analyzing the twist without the influence of any shear. On the other hand, we have define squeezing rate (local) and factor (integrated, approximates the squashing factor), which is extremely useful for showing reconnection sites and sharp current sheets. The poster will be accompanied by animations of these quantities in different configurations.
